The likeable Bobble Hat Bob kicked off our treble this evening in the first novice chase where he beat Kris Cross by a neck. Bobble Hat Bob seems to have grown in confidence since his win last month and he stayed on well up the hill. Kris Cross ran a much improved race, jumping competantly as the race went on, he will be an exciting horse for Colin and Debs in the autumn.
Castlelawn can carry his head high, but when in front he concentrates on his fences and Pete gave him a bold ride to win the two mile handicap chase. Castlelawn looks to be maturing and the two month break between races has helped him gain in strength. He may run again this summer.
Morning Time (pictured) was given a tactical ride by Rachael and stayed on really well after the last. He has taken time to find his form, and I think the time spent chasing has helped him to settle and relax through his races. He is a first horse for his owner Bill Forrester, and gave Rachael her first winner over hurdles, due reward for her hard work on the yard.
Blazin White Face was her usual genuine self to be third over 2m4f, a trip that is on the short side for her nowadays. Vallani found the going too fast, and Kilbree Chieff did not run due to the hurdles track being firm in places.
