The job: A responsible position for a yard manager to be in charge of a barn of up to twenty four horses. This position requires a high level of professionalism, horse care, attention to detail and management skills.
The horses: You will be expected to be able to oversee fit racehorses, and to attend to the health and welfare of them to an exceptional standard. You will ride out one or two a day if required.
The yard: Horse care, clipping, administering veterinary treatments, liaising with the vet and head lads, being responsible for the individual care of each horse. You will may have junior members of staff to manage and will be responsible for record keeping of your horses.
The future: This is a position which carries responsibility and is for a caring horse orientated person. We provide specialist training for those who have a desire to continue to progress, good rates of pay and accommodation if required.
You: You will be an experienced and educated horse person, though not necessarily with previous racing experience. You will be a high achiever with a love for horses and an interest in the veterinary and horse care side. Your attention to detail and dedication to the horse will be high. We prefer previous experience in running a yard and a mature attitude. You will enjoy taking responsibility and working with a high achieving team. Two references will be required, including at least one related to your horsemanship and horse care.
