|Owner||London Scots for Doddie|
A horse we acquired privately after seeing him finish runner-up in a point to point at Tinahely, Behindthelines proved most progressive over hurdles last season, culminating with a win in a novice at Newcastle in April. He runs in the colours of London Scots for Doddie, a syndicate set up in support of the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, the aim of which is to raise funds to aid research into the causes of Motor Neurone Disease and to investigate potential cures.
The foundation was launched in November 2017 by former Scottish Rugby International Doddie Weir and his trustees. Doddie himself has been battling with the disease since June 2017 and the charity is doing some wonderful work to improve the lives of those who are suffering. More information of this can be found here: https://www.myname5doddie.co.uk/
Behindthelines found the ground too quick on his recent debut over fences but remains a cracking prospect for staying novice chases. A horse with his very own twitter account (@Behindthelines8), hopefully he can continue to raise the profile of this most worthy cause.
