Near To Tears Second On Chase Debut And Day One Purchases From Goffs UK

We were delighted with Near To Tears' chase debut this evening at Hexham where, given an excellent ride by Derek she was settled, jumped well and stayed on to be second over two and a half miles. This was a nice step up for her, and she should give her owners, Julian and Karenina Morrison-Bell a lot of fun over the next few months; they are pictured with Derek and Jaimie in the paddock before the race.

It has been busy and most productive first day at the Doncaster Goffs sales, and we have bought three unbroken and untried youngsters.

The first purchase was an athletic bay gelding by Passing Glance, who has a lot of growing to do and who is from the family of winning mare Material Girl. See his pedigree and a photo HERE. He cost £15,000 and is for sale

Next up was the filly by Malinas. She has excellent conformation and a sweet temperament and will race for Allson Sparkle. She has a super black type pedigree and is a half sister to last Friday's Aintree winner Jacks Last Hope, see her details HERE

Finally, we love the Presenting gelding who Michael and Jane Kaplan bought; he is an active chap from a good family, and the second dam is the staying hurdle mare Diamant Noir. He looks ready to be broken in and to have some work. See his details HERE
