Sunshine and showers best describe the weather at Arlary and Kilduff and result in a constant battle to keep the right combination of waterproofs or tee shirts. We still have a couple of people on holiday and it was great to catch up another ex Arlary member this morning when Tiffany came back in to ride out. Tiff used to ride out and work part time in the office but has been living and riding out in Ireland for the past three years.
Angie brought back Geoff Brown's two homebreds who have been in pre training with Angie and who look fabulous: Sammy B may try novice chasing this autumn while the unraced Charlies Lass has grown and should be a decent mares bumper and novice hurdle prospect for Geoff.
We still have about a dozen horses to come back into work and are looking for an experienced rider to join us at the end of this month. We require two good references and for the applicant to be keen to join our progressive team. Please contact the office if interested.
Meanwhile, the horses' work is being increased and with the recent rain we are able to canter around the fields at Kilduff, covering many miles in the process. It is really good to see the horses relaxed and happy in their work having built up gradually in their fitness and we cannot wait for the lull in our entries in jump race meetings to be over.
