A pretty wet morning and time for the waterproofs to come out. The rain was at its worst in the morning, which was a pity as John Grossick was in to take photographs for the Racing Post. There will be some sodden images in our Stable Tour this year.
However, the latent enthusiasm remains; we worked a full three lots at Arlary and there was some excellent work from Sammy B, Run Rocky Run, Vino's Choice and Vengeur De Guye.
Earlier we had schooled half a dozen: Island Heights, Saint Freule, Rossamilan, Haul Us In, Ballycool and Star Of Milan.
Star is just a four year old and has been with us since he was a bullish two year old. His breeder Peter Dale sadly died two years ago and it would be wonderful if Star could be a legacy to him and his racing enthusiasm. Star is a good seventeen hands high and he will mature in time, but for now he is loving his schooling and he could be ready to run in a week or so. He is pictured with one of our stable amateur jockeys Cameron.
We had some lovely visitors this morning along with John; Jean and Bill Agnew who watched Tantamount, and Fraser McClung who brought carrots for Arthur and saw Templenaboe work well alongside Prince Dundee.
