A busy work morning for the yard, and a good feeling of the intensity of the galloping being increased. We missed Derek and Stephen as they were at Wetherby at a jockeys conference, but we had excellent news that Derek has passed his concussion test taken yesterday and is able to ride again.
At Kilduff Champagnendiamonds, Deepsand and Argentix all sprinted four times up the woodchip, with Deepsand showing plenty of enthusiasm. Most of the others had routine canters, the pre and post race runners had a gentle trot and canter, and Thepensionfund and Green Flag helped to round up some errant sheep.
Off to Arlary and some strong work for many, including The Road Home, Templenaboe, Well Above Par, Spoils Of War, Le Frank, Voyage A New York, Sammy B, Bescot Springs, Misfits, Big RIver, Ballycool, Prince Dundee, Itstimeforapint, and Chasseur De Tetes. Pictured are the horses being washed down after work; Blaydon, Imjoeking and Urban Kode are in the foreground.
We were joined by Belinda McClung and her mother and brother, and Mark and Susie Russell. Belinda spent time with One For Arthur and saw the Game Ready machine which we are using on his damaged tendon. More of that in a later news item, but suffice to say that the ice and pressure is working to reduce the swelling and we are pleased with the scans that have been taken.
Just the one heads to Carlisle tomorrow; Celtic Flames has his first run in a handicap over two miles. I am not sure about the trip, but Celtic has come on for his first run back last month and will be happy on the right handed track.
