Emissaire Wins At Ayr

Family honour was upheld as Emissaire won the juvenile bumper nicely for my brother and his good friend and racing enthusiast Alex Nicol. Despite being green and fly leaping in the first furlong, Emissaire was given a confident and educational ride by Blair and he quickened up in the closing stages to win to the delight of his owners and trainer. Emissaire has a lot of filling out to do but it is so rewarding to see his raw ability and, on a personal note, to give Lenny and Alex a winner with their first jointly owned runner is marvelous. Alex and Lenny are pictured on the winners podium.

Earlier Spoils Of War had stumbled after catching his leg on the fourth last hurdle, firing Blair into the mud, however both were unharmed which is the most important thing.

Blair's win on Emissaire was his twentieth so his claim is reduced to five pounds.

This evening is going to be a study evening for us as Scu and I go through the catalogue for the Tattersalls Cheltenham Sales held on this Friday. There are a couple of horses going through whose form we know well, and who should make decent racehorses for this season and beyond; we will be there on Friday, please contact me for more information on purchasing at this sale. The full catalogue can be found HERE
