Minus four overnight but with some more tractor harrowing from Bradley and Oli the gallops were in good shape and we covered many miles on them. We do have to go a bit steadier than normal resulting in strong horses and warm riders, especially as many of the horses are ready to race, but nowhere to go.
Ayr, despite their valiant attempts with frost sheets, was called off at seven o'clock this morning, and Hexham followed up with the same call at half past seven. It is so sad to lose three meetings following on from Kelso on Sunday, especially as next week has just Catterick and Wetherby before Newcastle on Saturday. I am hoping that the BHA will help us with a replacement meeting so that we can run our fit and ready horses.
Anyway, back to the yard and today's photograph is of Timesawaiting the four year old ex Irish pointer who has been making good progress in the past week. He has solid form, being second in his maiden to our Ask The Tycoon and is just a few weeks away from a bumper. As you can see from the photograph he is very light on his feet, and we are looking forward to schooling him as soon as the ground eases.
