Forest des Aigles followed up his Carlisle win with a victory over three miles at Bangor this afternoon. Loving the heavy ground he led with his ears pricked, jumping impeccably. His only mild error was at the last where he was nimble and it was super to see him win for the third time this season for Ray and Anita Anderson Green. A progressive six year old we have been gently giving him experience and stepping him up in trip as he gets stronger. He has won four of his five chases at distances of two, two and a half, and three miles and we will now likely prepare him for a valuable chase at the end of January.
It was a bonus to go racing today, and credit to Jaimie and the team who have had a few false starts over the past week, including a chilly night at Newcastle in readiness for their meeting on Thursday that was subsequently abandoned. I marvel at Jaimie's cheerfulness as she loads and unloads the lorries and at everyone at home's efforts to keep the horses exercised, fed, watered and turned out despite sub zero temperatures.
