A couple of thirds, and promise for the future from our runners today.
Miss Tiggy delighted us last time when winning over two miles on heavy and this afternoon confirmed that form and looks as if she will stay further when finishing with a flourish to be a closing third by a neck from the second. She has the size to go chasing but we will stick with hurdles this season and she should have more to come on the soft and heavy ground.
Where's Tiger loved his first go at fences jumping with enthusiasm, in the same way that he approaches everything in life. He just got tired after a minor mistake three out and should go on from here; soft ground holds no fears after this run. Celtic Flames, however, ran below expectation, not traveling and then being messy at this fences and we will need to get him back into form for next time.
In the two mile handicap Catchthemoonlight was outpaced and though she stayed on she had too great a margin to make up; it will be further for her next time. The Compellor was far too enthusiastic flying along in the lead then tiring with half a mile to go. He will be ridden with more restraint next time, and the cheekpieces will be left off.
Rising Marianbard took time to get into his race, but when the penny dropped he galloped up the home straight, looking a three mile chaser in the making. Emissaire, pictured, was very lit up and pulled for three quarters of the race out of anxiety; he may have a hood on next time, but whatever he needs a bit of time to mature mentally.
