Not our finest day at Catterick yesterday with both horses, Vengeur De Guye and It'stimeforapint making mistakes then struggling with the sharp track. Both are better than this and we will have them back racing after being checked over and some more jumping.
We had a morning schooling today with some of the weekend runners and a few of the young horses, today's photograph is of one of hte changeovers as the jockeys get on their specific horses. Jumping were Rising Marianbard, Celtic Flames, OrionInverness, Mighty Thunder, Behindthelines, Misfits, Bialco, Haul Us In, Topham Bay and Boys On Tour. There is a video on our home page, and also on our Facebook page of OrionInverness and Celtic Flames jumping one of the chase fences.
We have had a lovely new arrival, the four year old Scales Of Justice. A classy youngster he is by Galileo and is a half brother to a Listed miler. Scales Of Justice has plenty of scope and he had a trot over poles this afternoon in preparation for jumping hurdles.
Jaimie and Mark had our two Saturday runners at Warwick this morning and both Imjoeking and Big River had a trot and canter around the inside of the track. The soft ground will suit both of them tomorrow.
Imjoeking ran a stormer in the Grand Sefton last time and just did not quite get the two and a half mile trip. He is back over two miles tomorrow and we think that the track will suit his way of racing.
Big River returns to the track after a comprehensive vetting and training program following his poor run at Haydock last time. He remains a horse with massive potential and we are hoping that he can get his novice chase career back on track tomorrow.
