It has been a good two days racing at Ayr and Imjoeking and Haul Us In topped off today with a brave double, and we had great runs from the others.
Imjoeking has been a super horse for his owner Kenny Alexander, winning seven times and today's win was a brave effort. While heavy ground suits him his speed is blunted by it but he showed a strong attitude to stay on from the last and to catch the long time leader on the line. Joe loves the Aintree fences and we are keen to take him back there this April; this race has been an aim for a while and if he goes up a few pounds then he will be in the Topham next month.
Haul Us In has been a slow learner but between Blair, Lorraine and the rest of the team she has learned to pick up the bit and she travelled very easily today. She loves the heavy ground and this track and she looks to be on a roll now. It was great that Karenina and Julian Morrison- Bell were at Ayr to watch their brave mare and to receive the trophy. Haul Us In is pictured coming in with Blair.
We had two seconds and a third with our other runners.
Precious Cargo has plenty of ability but was rather keen again. His effort on the heavy ground and with a penalty was not enough to fend off the winner, but with a bit of time and more work at home, he should be back to full strength.
Arizona Bound ran a super race, jumping well when warmed up and just finding a well handicapped winner too much. He should be able to progress from here.
Dancing Amy also ran well but the two and a half miles was a little far for her on the heavy ground. She is a strong type who should find opportunities in mares races.
