Make It Happen Keeps The Winners Coming

Make It Happen kept the yard in the winners enclosure with a front running victory under Blair. Coping better than expected with the soft ground he loved his race and jumping well kept on despite being strongly challenged on the run in. Part owners Wilma and Gordon Wright waited in trepidation first for the result of a photo finish then for a stewards enquiry, but finally they were allowed to collect their prize, before heading back to Gretna for more lambing. They and Jeremy Mitchell have been patient with Make It Happen and he should be able to continue in good form on better ground.

Chanceiton ran really well in the Buccleuch Cup hunter chase but came up against a smart young horse; still, Chance jumped well and may be back under rules after a few more point to points.

Mumgos Debut was third, he is enjoying being held up but made a few sloppy jumps which dropped him back. He rallied to be third and continues to be a consistent chaser.

Neither Voyage A New York nor Newtown Lad looked particularly happy through their races and Voyage was seventh while Newtown pulled up. Voyage may be better suited to point to pointing or team chasing, while Newtown Lad will have a good holiday.

We have just the one runner at Carlisle tomorrow where Misfits returns to take on a fairly hot race. He ran well at the track last time and we are looking for another decent run.

hi lucinda, nice to see you with one in the maiden hunter, you need to support these races more often, and what great prize money for it (4 grand+ for the winner). the veterans races are also something to specialize in.

Yes, the stable is in good form and perhaps all the bad weather has proved to be a blessing in disguise. I am pleased for all those connected with your winners, especially the Tay Valley Chasers. It was good to see Orioninverness back in the winners enclosure, though it was hard work towards the end.

Hopefully, the upcoming Scottish Grand National meet will be successful. Looking at the entries Lucinda, it is very competitive. I hope for the best, listening to the opening day on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra. Coverage of four races begins at 2.00pm.

    Go get em Lucinda!!

    Best wishes
    lots of love
