Pre Kelso

Present Lodger ran a solid race on a track that looked too sharp for him, getting outpaced on the faraway bend then staying on in the closing stages to be fifth. If he comes out of the race well there should be good opportunities for him later this summer.

We have three tomorrow at Kelso on their popular Ladies Day.

Appropriately we start with two mares, Blue Baton and Chouquette. Blue Baton ran well on the stiff track at Hexham and is gaining in experience. Chouquette has her second hurdle start and sports a hood to see if she will settle better in the early stages of her race.

We then have the winning hurdler, The Road Home making his chase debut in the two mile novice chase. He was consistent through the winter and we feel that he will be a better chaser; this track and trip should suit.

Scu and I stayed at home to watch the work and were impressed by The Banastoir, pictured, who is in great form after his two hurdle runs.
