There is a lovely atmosphere on the yards as the summer sun makes the days easy.
Yesterday was glorious at Kelso and although Chouquette was too keen, Blue Baton fell and The Road Home looked as if three miles may suit him better, it was a wonderful day with an enthusiastic and happy crowd and great fun in our hospitality box.
At home, we have one more week before some of the younger horses come back into work, and while Derek continues his breaking in, and our small summer team limber up for Perth and Hexham, the others are relaxing in the fields.
Powerwashing, grass cutting and various painting jobs are taking place, and planning for a few projects later in the summer is underway.
This week The Compellor goes to Cartmel and there are more bloodstock sales at Cheltenham; more news on them as it happens. Otherwise, it is a 'more of the same' week; especially if the sunshine continues.
