We have a busy day coming up tomorrow with nine runners at our local track at Perth.
We start with Thepensionfund who was rather green at Worcester last time, showing his lack of racing experience by jumping too big at his hurdles. He should be able to put all that he learnt that day to good use and if he jumps more slickly he could be very competitive. He is pictured at home with Scu his usual workrider.
Arizona Bound, who is still for sale(!) takes on a more competitive field than on his winning run last time out. A handy type and just six years old he looks to still be on the upgrade and has been skipping around the fields at home.
Rivabodiva had a super season last year and has paid for it in a higher handicap mark. She starts this season in fresh form but will need to have improved over the summer to score tomorrow.
It shows a marked lack of imagination to run four in the same race, but all of our declarations in the two and a half mile hurdle have reasons to run. Celtic Flames is back after a mini break and is gaining his confidence before chasing again. Ryalex is returning from injury and nearly five hunded days off; he will run in a chase at the next Perth meeting. Hey Listen is trying the longer trip having stayed on well in his past few races; he is on a handy mark and has run his best races round Perth so we are hopeful that he is competitive. Finally Urban Kode should never be discounted as he loves his racing and ran a solid race last time, he is another who is on a good mark and has a light weight tomorrow.
We have two nice youngsters in the bumper. Mint Gold is held in good regard by the team here and we have taken it carefully with him; he did not run on the quick ground earlier in the summer. His damline has plenty of speed. Pinspot is a straightforward youngster who although mildly gobsmacked by his race day last time, stayed on really well in the closing stages.
