In search of better ground we made the trip to Bangor where although just on the soft side the going was still good. Seven Devils was lucky not to be brought down at the first and this usual prominent racer did well to regain his momentum and to get back in to the race. His third place shows his consistency and with more luck he can improve on it again.
Mint Gold was very green and found the undulations tricky. However, he stayed on and will have learnt more again.
At Ayr the previous day The Road Home looked uneasy on the going but jumped round to be fourth, while Slainte Mhor was a victim to the slow early pace and could not quicken when the race developed into a sprint; he is a long distance chaser in the future and will be given time to strengthen before another run.
