Bienvenue Effet Special: And A Sales Roundup

The sales at Cheltenham boasted a few really nice types and in particular a couple of potential staying chasers. Having viewed the horses with Paul McIvor in the morning we then bid on three that evening, but unfortunately missed out on all of them. The prices overall were expectedly on the higher end, but having put a value on each of our selections we were happy enough when we missed out, well, apart for one who we missed by just the one bid!

It reinforces our belief that we can buy at a sensible value privately, and while time consuming it is worth travelling to Ireland and France to find the horses that we like.

At Arqana today the sale included a selection of horses from Guy Cherel and we were keen to add to our stable. We are delighted to have secured the four year old EFFET SPECIAL who has won over fences, and been placed over both fences and hurdles. We have bought him to contest novice chases, novice hurdles and long term, crosscountry races as he has plenty of experience despite his young years.

Effet Special is from the family of the wonderful Saint Are, Vroum Vroum Mag and Bivouac and he looks tenacious and determined. He was bought for us by good friend and successful bloodstock agent Morton Buskop and is for sale.
