Ryalex Second, Filming, A Job Vacancy And More News

Ryalex made a bold bid to follow up his win at Carlisle with a gallant second at Market Rasen this afternoon. Closing on the long time leader all the way up the straight he was just denied by a determined rival, but our horse lost nothing in defeat. He stayed the longer trip and back on soft ground should be winning again.

At home Scottish Racing and ITV were in filming the gallops for a piece to be used later in the year. With plenty of mist and atmosphere, they will have got some super shots. I cannot wait to see the finished piece, including interviews with Jamie, Erin and Ciorstaidh.

With our numbers going up we are looking for another work rider; this is a position for an experienced horse person but not neccessarily with racing experience. We offer a super team to work with, lots of riding (five lots a day) and support for you to improve, whether as a stronger rider or to ride under rules. There is plenty of schooling and cantering and as a result you need to be able to ride to a good level. There is more information on our vacancies page. Please email the office with your cv

Our brood mares are back home and moved to more grass today. Pictured are Miss Joeking, Catchthemoonlight and The Toft. Miss Joeking is in foal to Getaway and The Toft is in foal to Westerner, while Catch is having a rest in preparation for a return to the track in the spring.

Finally, we welcome Fiona Thompson to the team; she is taking over from Tracy who leaves us after ten years. We will miss Tracy immensely, with her sense and professionalism she has guided the office forward, but we are looking forward to working with Fiona and all that she brings to the job.
