So, today was a usually busy Tuesday with lots of work for the horses and visits from vets and owners and authors.
We have a couple of new horses who are making their way up through the work program and we are really pleased with them. Mon Ami Bob arrived four weeks ago, a huge, rangy gelding who was still to fill his frame. Having shown ability in bumpers, coming fourth at Newcastle, he was too weak to continue training but a good few months at grass with his owner has helped him and he is here to try hurdles. He has finished his month at Kilduff where work on the water treadmill has really strengthened him, and he is now off to Arlary for the main gallop.
Eugenio was in for his routine visit and as well as a couple of health checks of new horses he attended to those who have just raced and a few who are recuperating.
Alexander Trotter came to see his four year old Crumbs who he owns with the other Crumpets and to also discuss his three year old Mr Toastie.
Anne Williams, author of 'The Grand National The Official Celebration Of 150 Years' was in to meet Belinda and Debs and, of course, Arthur, as they are to be included in a new Grand National book due out next autumn. Arthur is pictured with three of his best girls; Debs, Erin and Belinda.
We have one of our new ex French horses for Anna Bramall running tomorrow when Gars Bar Dine makes his return to the track; a super compact chap he loves soft and heavy ground and any rain will help him.
