No racing for ages then lots of meetings all at once.
Musselburgh was hit hard by first the frost and then the equine flu issue and it is wonderful to have two days racing there to look forward to.
Gerry Macgladery is a big supporter of Musselburgh and he runs his quirky handicap hurdler Max Liebermann in the two mile four furlong novice hurdle. Dropping back in trip we try a visor and tongue strap and Thomas takes off a useful seven pounds. The ground should be fine but he needs to improve a few pounds to add to Gerry's Musselburgh Leading Owner total.
Pinspot is stepping up in distance after an improved run over two miles six last time. He may find the track a little sharp but has been steadily improving through this season.
The four runner novice chase is no push over with three of the runners winning on their last outing, and the other being a close up second. Elmono is suited to Musselburgh and he has a useful five pounds off with Blair riding.
We run two in the two mile handicap hurdle; Royal Reserve looked on the upgrade last time and will love the quick ground; he is raising money for the My Name'5 Doddie foundation; while Kelpies Myth has some solid form around here and any ease in the ground will be to his advantage.
