There is no jump racing in Britain this week so Jaimie and Ailsa have left for Punchestown to run Bialco and Lucky Flight.
Both horses are owned by Morten Buskop and Carsten Baagoe Schou who are hoping to come to Ireland to watch them. Bialco, pictured runs on Thursday in the three mile handicap hurdle with Derek riding and we hope that Lucky Flight will get in to a bumper on either Friday or Saturday.
Having had a gentle canter at Kilduff and a check over by our vet Eugenio Cillan Garcia, both horses left for the ferry at Cairnryn. They arrived shortly before seven o'clock in the evening and have settled in well. Ailsa cantered both this morning and reports them to be relaxed and moving well. For up to the minute reports please follow the girls on our Facebook page, Lucinda Russell Racing.
Meanwhile, at home, it was a work day and twenty five horses worked to prepare them for racing over the next few weeks. Working well were Rapid Raider, Ain't My Fault, Miss Batton, Elmono, Argentix and Refer To Rory.
On the farm Bradley has done a super job harrowing, fertilising and rolling the fields and we now await the grass growing to make into haylage. We are very proud of our home grown high quality haylage which we obsess over until it is baled and wrapped. For the past four years the laboratory results have shown it to be clean and of a high feed value, we hope that this year will produce a similar quality feed.
