Dr Hooves has been given plenty of time and he still showed a little inexperience in his novice hurdle at Hexham this evening. Having some room for improvement in his hurdling he stuck to his task in the home straight to regain second. He will be a super horse when he is sharper but whatever he showed a good attitude at the end of the race.
Exit To Where backed up his second placing to be third in the novice handicap chase, attempting to make all. He is a super jumper for a novice and while his early exuberance caught him out on the hill to the line he kept on after the last fence. A short holiday should give him time to assimilate all that he has achieved this season and we may aim at the Northern Lights final with him next spring.
It was a late night home for Steve and El but a worthwhile evening as our young horses gain more experience on ground that had been well watered by the Hexham groundstaff.
