The pre-training continues and the majority of the winter horses have completed four weeks of trotting and steady cantering. The next month sees the mileage cut down and the speed increased as we head towards races in September.
We have a couple who are further forward including the ex-French Signifiant who will run for a new group of owners a couple of whom, Kat, John and George, were in this morning to see him work and to discuss his pre season MOT with our vet Eugenio. We are very pleased with Signifiant's progress and Bolton, Moyles, Frame and Smart could have a nice one on their hands.
Belinda and Fraser McClung were in this morning to see One For Arthur, pictured, as he continues his build up to running in the autumn. He looks fabulous and came back from his holidays 30kg heavier than usual.
We have a couple of retired horses available for long term loan; one of which has come back from his loan home looking fairly ropey. This highlights the importance of placing the horses carefully and is why we have loan agreements in place for some. Others have been sold and many of them were at the SOAR ex racehorse show at Ladybank today. Run by one of our girls, Eleanor, the show had over 40 ex racers and sounds a huge success. Great to see some of our ex horses looking amazing, including Lost Frequency, Revocation, The Banastoir, Ask The Tycoon, Vertigo, Rossamilan, and Categorical.
