Lycetts Team Gold Award And Flat Racing This Weekend

We are delighted to be recognised as a Lycetts Team Champion Gold Award yard, an accolade to show that we have developed a high performance team with the highest standards of employee management. This is the first year that we have applied for the award and it is great to go in at the top level.

Our team has continued to prepare the horses for racing and this weekend we will have our first flat runners of the season when Ballyare, Gripper and Engles Rock run at Newcastle behind closed doors. All three have been in training throughout the lockdown and we will know more about where they are after Saturday and will plan the rest of their seasons from there.

Pictured are Exchequer and Gripper working on the Arlary gallop.

This morning we welcomed STV to the yard when they came to see how we are preparing for the resumption of racing in Scotland; with Ayr on 22nd June for the flat, and Perth on 21st July for jumps it will be great to have Scottish racing back.

We are about to start on a search for a new head lad/girl to run Arlary as Ciostaidh is due to leave us in July to start some stud work. An official job advertisement will be released later today; please refer to the VACANCIES section for more details. There will be a stringent application process as we seek to fill Ciorstaidh's boots, please direct any suitable candidates our way.

Congratulations on receiving your award. So well deserved. A great run from Ballyare today at Newcastle. A great start on your 1st run after lockdown.
