December is always an odd month for us as the fixture list means we have racing over the weekends and less through the week. This suits us in a way as we can concentrate on targetting the weekends and have time to school and work the horses with all the jockeys in during the week.
This morning we schooled Dr Hooves, Sutton Manor, Faire Part Sivola and Charmix over the Easyfix hurdles and fences. All four may run in the next week and look confident and ready to race.
The Goffs UK team are holding another point to point sale at Yorton Farmon Thursday with a nice mix of Irish and British point to point horses and a couple with form under rules. We are delighted with our purchases from last month; the British pointer Ahoy Senor who looks a proper type, and the six year old Corach Rambler who could be exceptional value; he is developing in to a strong youngster and did a cracking piece of work last weekend. He is for sale in shares, see THE RAMBLERS page.
Paul has gone through the catalogue and has a few horses highlighted, his case is made easier by videos on the online catalogue, offering the chance to see the horses in action. See the catalogue HERE. We will be at the sales on Thursday, looking to add to the stable.
Meanwhile, the horses continue to be prepared at home, with the groundstaff working hard to keep the horses warm and in top shape. Every horse continues to be turned out every day meaning plenty of mud to be brushed off at afternoon stables. Pictured is Bialco before he rolled.
We could be at Uttoxeter, Haydock, Newcastle and Wolverhampton in the next few days; all quiet then whoosh! A flurry of race meetings.
