Plans for our Christmas do not really differ from a normal day, and this morning STV's Stefani Dailly came to ask about our plans for a sports news article to be shown on the six o'clock news next week. As well as filming the horses working she interviewed Stephen and Tracy about working over Christmas; it is not a hardship and like 6,500 other stable employees in Britain the team here will be making sure the horses receive the top class care that they deserve.
Stefani is pictured filming Readysteadybeau and Corach Ramnbler leading the string up the gallops.
We had a couple of first timers with the main string today as It's A Midnight and DomandLouis joined the fifth lot at Arlary, cantering on the main gallop in the string for the first time. Bought at the store sales this summer the three year olds have had a full six months being broken in and pre training and are physically strong and lovely rides. They are ready for the step forward in to full training for a few months and we will see how they progress.
Tomorrow we have runners over jumps at Newcastle and on the all-weather at Wolverhampton.
Otello Moor has been gradually improving with racing and this five year old has his third novice hurdle run tomorrow at Newcastle. A stayer in the future we are giving him plenty of time to mature and we think that he will be worth waiting for.
Ain't My Fault won nicely at Hexham two runs ago and a return to that form should see him go close tomorrow in the two mile novice handicap chase. He will be better going left handed again and he wears a first time visor.
Three year old Hector Master has been a dream to train. Straightforward and with a willing attitude he was bought as a two year old from Arqana and has completed all of his work at home. He has not had a racecourse gallop and may be green tomorrow but he deserves his chance in the juvenile bumper and will benefit from all that he learns.
Meanwhile, Ballyare will be at Wolverhampton tomorrow evening where he contests a usually competitive sprint on the all weather. He has been unlucky in his past two races, and if he can get the breaks tomorrow he could go very close.
