Snow And A Quiet Return To Racing

We have had a bit of a steady time on the yard with snow and ice suspending racing then a few quiet runners since.

The daily challenges from the snow were dealt with efficiently and effectively as the staff rallied together to keep the horses warm and exercised. With no racing we could concentrate on keeping the yard running and we were lucky to be able to keep the gallops open and in working order. We also had lots of cantering in the snow at the farm, fun for the horses and riders.

Since racing resumed we have had a mixed bag of runners, but we have seen some good performances from the young horse, none more so than Readysteadybeau who improved on his debut run to be second at Wetherby yesterday, Like many of ours he has a chaser's build and he will learn his trade over hurdles next season before chasing.

We have one runner on Saturday and the same on Sunday: At Haydock Faire Part Sivola is stepping up in trip and grade to contest a Pertemps qualifier, while on Sunday Bialco runs at Uttoxeter in a two and a half mile handicap hurdle on his most favoured heavy ground.
