End Of Week News

More work on the yard with fifty horses in training or pre-training and still some repairs, painting and upgrading of the facilities going on.

The pre-trainers do plenty of trotting including some work in the school. Pictured is the five year old bumper winning mare Simone who will go hurdling in the autumn. She will have plenty of practice jumping before her hurdles debut but judging by her attitude this morning she will love the challenge.

Our other soon to debut hurdler is Bab El Mandeb. He was bought from the Godolphin draft at the Goffs May sales and has loved his new training regime. His jumping in the school has been exceptional and this week he has been schooling over the Easyfix and normal hurdles at Kilduff. John Murray, his owner, came to see him today and we have brought forward the date of his debut to mid July.

Tap Night ran below expectation at Cartmel this afternoon. He travels so well and looks to be well in control until two out. We will see how he is when he returns home.

Scu and I have our bags packed ready to go to France to look for two year old stores. Eugenio our vet is also coming to check any prospective purchases as a number of them will already have been in training. We are delighted with last year's purchase, Emissaire who should run in junior bumpers before going hurdling. My brother and his friend own him so he has to be good!
