Scu and I had an excellent few days in Ireland at the Tattersalls August Store Sales. Travelling with Paul and Margaret Winnell we were looking for a good type to make a long distance chaser and I think that we have hit on a decent one. By Goldwell, the sire of Holywell and out of a Be My Native mare, this very athletic gelding has correct conformation and covers the ground when he trots. He will come home to Scotland to be broken in and, while a long term project, he should give Paukl and Margaret plenty of fun over the coming years. A video of him trotting (and misbehaving) is on the home page.
We did not plan to buy another, but today we could not resist a Phoenix Reach gelding from the family of the mighty Inglis Drever. He moves so well and has a super temperament so we bought him on spec for 15,000 euros. He is for sale, and looks the type to come to hand quickly; please contact us to come and see him. He is pictured above.
We were delighted to buy another; we were blown away by the three year old Milan out of a half sister to Ad Hoc; he is a full up 16.3hands and is very light on his feet, very like One For Arthur. He was always going to be popular, but being at the end of the catalogue I think that we have bought his reasonably for his class and type. He was 40,000 euros and is for sale; see his pedigree HERE and please come and see him and the Phoenix Ridge if you would like to be involved.
