Something A Bit Different Ballyare Wins At Newcastle

Ballyare was our first ever sprint winner at Newcastle this afternoon for owners the Bristol Boys. Waiting for a gap he had to push past horses in the final furlong but won nicely once given a clear run. Ballyare has been a most consistent horse and seems to love the all weather; there should be more opportunities for him there this winter.

We were delighted to pick up Mrs Melba Bryce's three year old filly Brodick who will run for the London Scots For Doddie this winter. A group of businessmen, the LSFD run their horse to raise awareness of MND through the Doddie Weir My Name'5 Doddie charity and all prizemoney is donated to the fund. Brodick arrives with us fit from the flat and will be schooled over hurdles.

Meanwhile, at home, we had lots of work on the grass this morning and a little schooling in preparation for the weekend's racing. No runners at Carlisle due to the good ground, but plenty of entries at Kelso, Ayr, and for the new fixture at Hexham on Sunday. Roll on some soft ground and more runners.

Great seeing Ballyare getting his first and deserved win, so close before. I hope you get the rain you’re praying for. 🐻
