Bollingerandkrug And Mannochmore Double Up At Kelso

A good day for the yard and owners at Kelso with a double from progressive novices Bollingerandkrug and Mannochmore and some good runs from the other young horses.

Bollingerandkrug is a chasing type who has grown up through this season and, following a win round here in a novice hurdle, he showed that he is mature enough to win a handicap this afternoon. He has plenty of scope and may go novice chasing in the autumn and he looks a useful addition to owner Debs Thomson's string.

Mannochmore flattered to deceive over hurdles but he has found his calling and loves jumping chase fences, pictured. He enjoyed the Kelso challenges and won by a dozen lengths to the delight of his owners Distillery Racing. Included in Distillery Racing is Mannochmore's breeder Robert Robinson who took a break from foaling duties to watch the race.

Without Conviction ran a much better race, staying prominent throughout and hurdling better, she seemed to act on the better ground and may run again this spring.

Bumper horses Hector Master and Petite Rhapsody have a little more to learn and both need to relax in their races. The experience from today will stand to them and hurdles next time should help them find a rhythm.
