With Calle Malva unfortunately now a non-runner at Hexham, we have just the one representative tomorrow with Ballyare lining up in the 6f handicap at Chester, a race we are especially keen to win given it is sponsored by our main supporter Edinburgh Gin.
Better than the bare result on his last two starts, Ballyare has been aimed at this race since finishing seventh from what turned out to be a poor draw at Hamilton in May and he is more favourably berthed on this occasion breaking from stall 4. He’ll need the gaps to come at the right time, but he has the form to be competitive in an open race under Richard Kingscote, fresh from winning last weekend’s Derby on the impressive Desert Crown.
We have been busy adding to our string away from the track with the purchase of the chesnut gelding by Getaway out of the smart race mare Heltornic at this week’s Goffs Land Rover Sale. Competition was fierce throughout so we were delighted to acquire this classy and athletic individual for €43,000 and thankful for the help of Joan Tyner in assisting with the purchase. He is currently for sale, so please get in touch via the office or check out our For Sale page for further details.
We are also pleased to announce that there are two free lease shares available in Fyfin Patsy who is ready to return to action following a spell on the sidelines. An eight-year-old mare, she was twice placed over hurdles prior to sustaining an injury and this former Irish point winner will have plenty of options over both hurdles and fences in the months ahead. Once again, please visit our For Sale page or contact the office for further details.
